Purpose
To create a community-based approach to provide assistance with nonlethal management methods to reduce livestock depredations by wolves in four Washington Counties: Okanogan, Ferry, Stevens, and Pend Oreille. More information to come when the 2023-2025 budget is signed.

Funding and Duration 
  • $276,000 is available to award for this round of applications. 
In accordance with RCW 16.76.020, a four-member advisory board will be established to advise the department on the expenditure of the northeast Washington wolf-livestock management grant funds. The board must help direct funding of the deployment of nonlethal deterrence resources.

Who’s Eligible?
Funds may only be distributed to nonprofit community-based collaborative organizations that have advisory boards that include personnel from relevant agencies including, but not limited to, the United States forest service and the Washington department of fish and wildlife.
